Fee table — 2026-10 (estimate)
Referral fees are a percentage of the sale price in EUR. The calculator applies the same numbers as this table, so any result can be recomputed by hand.

|---|---|
| Most categories | 15% |
| Consumer electronics | 8% |
| Apparel | 17% |
| Jewelry | 20% |
| Books | 15% |

| Up to 100 g | €2.05 |
| 100–250 g | €2.45 |
| 250–500 g | €2.90 |

The size tier multiplies the fulfilment fee for the weight band.

VAT 17%–27% depending on the country (Germany 19%, France 20%, Italy 22%). Goods under €150 enter the EU free of customs duty but still carry VAT; IOSS collects that VAT at checkout.
One marketplace, many VAT rates
Amazon Europe is several large storefronts sharing a fulfilment network — Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands, plus smaller sites on the same euro schedule. VAT is set by each country rather than by Amazon: 19% in Germany, 20% in France, 21% in Spain and the Netherlands, 22% in Italy. That spread is where the "17% to 27% depending on the country" warning above comes from.
Decide early whether the price you type includes VAT. A consumer price usually does; a business-to-business price usually does not. The calculator works on the number you give it, so a gross price makes a share of what looks like margin into money you will hand to a tax authority. Enter the net price if you want the margin figure to mean what it says.
Fulfilment is priced in grams
Amazon Europe quotes fulfilment by weight band in grams, and the boundaries fall where sellers least expect them: a 480-gram parcel and a 500-gram parcel cost the same, while a 501-gram parcel moves up a band. The box, the filler and the thank-you card all count towards that weight, which is why packaging decisions show up in the margin.
The fee table on this page stops at 15 kilograms. Beyond that every site treats bulky freight differently, so the estimate adds a per-100-gram continuation above the last band; treat anything over 15 kg as a planning figure and confirm it in Seller Central.
Referral fees, and where the 20% band bites
Most categories pay 15% of the sale price as a referral fee, consumer electronics sit at 8%, apparel at 17% and jewellery at 20%. The percentages look close together in a table and feel very different in a margin, because the referral fee is charged on the sale price rather than on your cost.
Electronics are the classic trap: an 8% referral fee makes a thin-margin item look viable, and then the return rate arrives. Jewellery is the mirror image — 20% referral fee plus presentation boxes that push the unit into a heavier fulfilment band.
The €150 threshold, IOSS and duty
Goods valued under €150 enter the EU free of customs duty, but VAT still applies, and the Import One-Stop Shop collects that VAT at checkout rather than at the border. Above €150, duty depends on the declared value and the commodity code, which is where landed-cost surprises come from.
This calculator does not include duty or cross-border fulfilment. If you store stock in one country and ship to another under Pan-European FBA or EFN, Amazon adds a cross-border fulfilment fee on top of the domestic one — one of the most common reasons an EU margin is lower than a domestic calculation suggested.
What the estimate leaves out
Monthly storage appears as a reference rate rather than a calculated line, because it depends on volume and on how long the unit sits in the warehouse. The calculator takes storage per unit, so if your average cover is three months, multiply the reference rate by three.
Beyond storage: removal and disposal fees, refund administration, returns processing, advertising, the long-term storage surcharge and the currency conversion you may absorb when you report in a non-euro currency. Each is small; together they are usually two to five percentage points of margin.
Turning the break-even into a price
The break-even price is the sale price where net profit is exactly zero after referral fee, fulfilment, storage, the returns allowance, advertising, product cost and inbound freight. Every percentage fee is already inside that number, so anything above it earns margin.
A practical workflow: price from the market, then watch the margin. If it lands under 15%, the levers are product cost, packaging weight — which moves the fulfilment band — and the ad percentage. Dropping one weight band often moves the margin more than a one-euro price change.
Questions
Does this calculator include VAT?
No. Referral and fulfilment fees are Amazon fees, not tax. VAT is charged on top of the sale price and collected from the buyer, so if you enter a VAT-inclusive price, remember that part of it is not yours. Enter the net price if you want the margin figure to mean what it says.
Why is the fulfilment fee in grams?
Amazon Europe sizes fulfilment by weight in grams, with a size-tier multiplier on top. The bands start at 100 grams and widen as weight grows. The calculator uses exactly the bands shown in the table above, so any result can be recomputed by hand.
