receipt template
A receipt proves a payment already happened. It needs the amount, the date, the method and what was bought — and none of the due-date language an invoice carries.

Receipts get requested long after the sale: a landlord asking for proof of rent, a client’s accountant closing the year, a marketplace buyer who needs paperwork. Issuing one takes a minute when the tool does not demand an account first.
What to put on a receipt
- The amount paid, and the date it was paid
- How it was paid: cash, card, bank transfer
- What was paid for, with quantities
- A receipt number that matches your own records
- Who issued it and who paid it

Frequently asked
- What is the difference between a receipt and an invoice?
- An invoice asks to be paid and states a due date. A receipt confirms that payment already happened, so it shows the payment date and method instead of payment terms. Switching the document type to Receipt changes the title, the date labels and the totals line.
- Is this invoice template free to use?
- Yes. Open the template, adjust the lines, download the PDF. There is no account, no email gate and no per-invoice charge.
- Will my client see that I used a template?
- They will see a clean, standard invoice layout with your details, your lines and your totals. The only footer line mentions where the PDF was generated, below the invoice content.
