Dropshipping cost calculator
In short: put in the 1688 price, shipping, platform fees and returns, and see the real profit per unit — plus the price you need for a target margin.
A 30 yuan product is not a 30 yuan cost. Shipping, commission, payment fees and returns decide whether the order makes money. This page adds them up and shows both the landed cost and the sale price you need.

How the maths works
Shipping reference ranges
For a small parcel (under 500 g) from China, agents usually quote something in these ranges. Check the current quote from your own agent — rates move with fuel, season and route.
| Method | Typical cost | Typical transit | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Economy packet | ¥18–30 / 100 g | 15–40 days | Cheap items, patient buyers |
| Standard line (dedicated) | ¥35–60 / 100 g | 8–15 days | Most store orders |
| Express courier | ¥90–160 / 500 g | 3–7 days | High-value or time-critical orders |
If your parcel or destination falls outside these ranges, put the quote you actually have in the international shipping field — that number decides the result.
Read this before pricing
This calculator models one unit at a time. It does not know your marketplace's exact fee schedule, your tax registration (sales tax, VAT, IOSS) or the cost of returns logistics — add a returns allowance and a tax line yourself if they apply. It is not affiliated with 1688, Alibaba or any marketplace.
Questions
How do I calculate dropshipping profit from 1688?
Add the unit price, domestic shipping and international shipping to get the landed cost per unit in yuan, convert it at your real exchange rate, then subtract returns, platform commission, payment fees and ad spend from the sale price. What is left is profit; this page does the arithmetic in your browser.
What fees should I include?
At minimum the marketplace commission (for example Shopify plus the payment processor), the payment fee percentage, and an ad allowance. Sellers who forget the ad allowance and the return rate are the ones who find out at the end of the month that a profitable-looking product was losing money.
Is the shipping estimate exact?
No. Freight rates change by month, route and agent, so this page shows a reference range only and asks you to type the quote you actually have. The table is a starting point for comparing options, not a carrier quote.
Does it handle minimum order quantities?
Type the MOQ as the quantity and the calculator shows the total upfront cost and the profit if the whole batch sells. For testing a product, run the same numbers with your realistic first batch instead of the factory minimum.
Is my data uploaded?
No. The calculation runs in your browser; no request carries your prices, costs or quantities anywhere.
